The ongoing and frequent power outages affecting Grand Bahama have reached an unacceptable level and require immediate action. Our residents are justifiably frustrated, as the current service continues to fall short of basic expectations. The Grand Bahama Power Company (GBPC) has a responsibility to provide reliable and consistent power to the island.
I have communicated these concerns to GBPC, and while I appreciate their efforts to address the situation, I will continue to advocate on behalf of Grand Bahamians to ensure they fulfill their commitment to delivering the service our island deserves. It is vital that our power supply keeps pace with the needs of our growing island.
